About ROM Utrecht Region

We help innovative entrepreneurs realize their ambitions and increase their impact – with advice, a powerful network, and suitable financing. Together we build a future-proof economy in one of the most dynamic regions of the Netherlands.
We are a young and growing organization with big ambitions and a clear mission. Entrepreneurship, courage, a positive mindset, and trust are at the heart of our culture. With us, you get the space to do what you are good at and to continue developing yourself.
Not only our entrepreneurs are central – so are you as an employee. ROM Utrecht Region is therefore proud to have been named a Great Place to Work!
About the LDI project
Across the Netherlands, the nine Regional Development Agencies (ROMs) together hold valuable data about innovative entrepreneurs. To unlock the potential of this information, the ROMs have joined forces in the National Data Infrastructure (LDI).
We have built a shared Microsoft Fabric platform where the ROMs collaborate and already publish the first joint reports. In the coming period, we want to expand the platform’s functionalities and professionalize its use. To achieve this, we are strengthening the LDI core team with a Data Engineer who will bring technical expertise in-house and help us grow further.
The LDI team currently consists of three members: a program manager, a strategy & partnerships lead, and a project manager/business analyst. Until now, we have worked with an external technical partner – now we want to build this capacity within the team itself.
Your role: building the foundation for joint data solutions
As Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain the pipelines, models, and infrastructure on which the LDI runs. You work closely with colleagues from all ROMs to translate business questions into scalable data solutions in Microsoft Fabric. You also safeguard data quality, security, and interoperability across organizations.
This is your chance to work in a unique, multi-stakeholder project that directly strengthens the innovative power of the Netherlands.
